Free CV review example
See what a Kaeros free CV review looks like.
A useful CV review should not just say "good" or "bad." It should show what helps your application, what creates doubt, and what to fix first.
“Example only — based on common CV issues, not a real customer document.”
Example review
Example: Marketing Assistant (anonymised)
First impression
The CV opens with a generic "Motivated marketing professional seeking a dynamic role." This communicates very little to a recruiter scanning 50 applications. It does not say what level, what type of marketing, or what the candidate actually wants.
Structure & readability
The layout is two pages with dense blocks of text. Key information like degree and employer names are hard to spot at a glance. Bullet points are inconsistent — some are full sentences, some are fragments.
Recruiter / ATS readability
The CV uses a two-column layout with a text box for the profile section. Many ATS systems cannot parse text boxes reliably. The font is small (9pt), which may cause display issues in some parsers.
Strongest issue
The experience section lists duties only: "Assisted with email campaigns," "Managed social media accounts," "Supported team with reporting." There are no results, no numbers, no indication of impact.
Top 3 improvement priorities
1. Replace duty lists with impact-focused lines (e.g. "Managed Instagram account — grew followers by 40% over 6 months"). 2. Rewrite the opening summary to target a specific role and level. 3. Simplify layout to single column, consistent formatting, minimum 10pt font.
Suggested next step
This CV needs targeted rewriting rather than light editing. The structure and tone need to change so recruiters can quickly understand what you have done and how well you did it. A CV Starter package would address all three priority areas.
What we do not do
We do not judge your CV or make you feel bad about it.
We do not send generic, one-size-fits-all comments.
We do not pressure you to buy after a review.
We do not rewrite the whole CV for free — the review shows what needs changing.
Questions about the free review
Is this a real customer's CV?
No. This is a fabricated example based on common CV issues we see. It does not represent any real person or customer.
What does a real free review include?
Your review will be specific to your actual CV — your structure, your experience section, your wording, and your target role. You will get honest, specific observations and a clear suggested next step.
How long does a free review take?
Typically 1–2 business days. You will be notified by email when it is ready.
Is there any pressure to buy after the review?
No. The review is genuinely free — no payment, no subscription. If we recommend a package, we explain why, but you are not obligated to do anything.
